Better by Tracey Cracknell
Take a look at me
I'm getting better, can't you see
That I'm never gonna be
Whoever you're waiting for me to be
Because I'm me
So won't you take another look at me
I'm still getting better, I can see
That I'm still never gonna be
Whoever you're waiting for me to be
Because I'm me, I'm me
And we're all better when we're who we're meant to be
I'm better being me

The Days When No Birds Sing by Tracey Cracknell
The day I crossed the line between ok and not so fine
Started out much the same as any other.
I got up out of bed, put my glasses on my head,
Put my clothes on and I made a cup of tea,
Then later on that morning I discovered without warning
That my deepest, deepest love was not an angel from above
But a demon sent from Hell
To plunge me way way down a well of dark despair,
So won't you take a tip from me
And process everything you see
Because the signs were there before
That I had chosen to ignore
As to accept them was to leave
And I just couldn't face to grieve
For the loss of someone I still held so dear.
It taught me quite a lesson I was not prepared to learn
But they say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Treat them mean treat them keen,
Now what's that supposed to mean -
Well I'm not taking all that bollocks any longer.
Now I'm getting back my smile
Though it's taken quite a while
Seven years to be precise
And it's not been very nice,
So if you're down like I was
Please have faith, you'll be okay,
It might not take so long
But you will have to be strong,
Get a hobby, bake a cake, put up a shelf.
But the most important thing on the days when no birds sing
Is to remember to be patient with yourself.

Take Me Home by Tracey Cracknell
Take me home to a place where I can be
Take me home to a place that's just for me
Take me home
Take me home
I don't wanna be in the city any more today
Don't wanna be in the city any more...

Never List

Never List by Tracey Cracknell
You should be on my Never List for the lies you tell
You should be on my Never List for putting me through Hell
You should be on my Never List for the way you think
You should be on my Never List but my pen keeps running out of ink
It should never have started, there are lines I don't cross
But your lines in the sand you hid
There are things I won't do and I told that to you
'Cause Pandora's Box has a lid
Well you live dirty and I live clean
But backed in a corner I'll fight
You can only fight the devil when you know he's around
So put on your armour tonight
You should be on my Never List for the lies you tell
You should be on my Never List for putting me through Hell
You should be on my Never List for the way you think
You should be on my Never List but my pen keeps running out of ink
I'm a peaceful person, it used to be true
I like a peaceful life
But I fight my own battles, that's true too,
There haven't been many but the war was with you
You ripped my heart out and stamped on the pieces
Then did it again in Hell
You stomped on my fingers at the top of the cliff
And grinned in my face as I fell.
That's why you're going on my Never List
For the lies you tell
You're going on my Never List
For putting me through Hell
You're going on my Never List
For the way you think.
You're going on my Never List
And I don't need no ink.

Aim High

Aim High by Tracey Cracknell
I'd like to share my song with you
But you don't have to listen,
A little song, it won't take long
And there's no need to pay.
I'm not a star, I won't go far,
Some notes I'll maybe miss 'em
But hey I tried, can't say I lied
And you don't have to stay.
Aim High
Aim High
Aim High
The door's right there, the choice is yours,
The way is never barred
It's up to you, the things you do,
Though sometimes choice is hard.
Just take a chance, that's all I ask,
You might just be surprised.
They who dare can sometimes lose,
The magic is they tried
Aim High
Aim High
Aim High

Evil Eye by Tracey Cracknell
Don't you hit me with your evil eye,
Don't you put your evil eye on me,
Don't you hit me with your evil eye,
Don't you put your evil eye on me,
Don't you hit me with your evil eye,
Don't you put your evil eye on me,
When you hit me with your evil eye,
Must be something you can see.
With your evil eye on me
There really must be
Something you can see
With your evil eye on me
There really must be
Something pretty damned good about me
Something pretty damned good about me
Something pretty damned good about me, yeah

These Words

These Words by Tracey Cracknell
These words were written by a friend of mine
For all the people round her who are sad.
She says she hopes you will find
That in the end things don't turn out so bad.
Sometimes it feels like nothing will go right.
Sometimes it feels those days last way too long,
But keep in mind however dark the night
We know that pretty soon the dawn will come
So when your light's not shining bright
And troubles weigh you down
It won't last long if you sing a song,
A smile might replace your frown
And when the light shines in your life once more
The good days, they'll seem so much brighter
Following the dark times that you bore,
So come on, you can do it, you're a fighter.
Yeah when your light's not shining bright
And troubles weigh you down
It won't last long if you sing a song,
A smile might replace your frown
And when the light shines in your life once more
The good days, they'll seem so much brighter
Following the dark times that you bore,
So come on, you can do it, you're a fighter.
These words were written by a friend of mine
For all the people round her who are sad.
She says she hopes you will find
That in the end things don't turn out so bad.
