Come With Us
04:29
|
|||
Come with us, Ms Cracknell
No, you're not being arrested
We'd just like for you to join us at the station
Your neighbours have expressed concern
That you may be unstable
So we'd like to place you under observation
We know you haven't said a word for days
So it is nought to do
With anything in recent conversation
It's just that they feel there may be
A problem with your sanity
That at your birth there was a cancellation
In the handing out of mental bricks
When you were standing in the queue
Towards the back so your load was a short one
And when God threw the parts that make us
Able to survive out here
You stared off into space before you caught one
You will not come ?
It's up to you
It's really not a crime you know
We understand your fear and hesitation
But if you change your mind just call
And they on duty will do all
They can to help you with self-preservation
|
||||
2. |
||||
We only get one life, you know
We write our own story
And you must find your way, like me
And if you leave behind
The search for power, fame and glory
Oh I think you'll find
All we need is to be free

Round And Round Again
03:20
|
|||
I wake up and think of you
I'm really not sure what to do
To stop these thoughts from running round my brain
I know you'll say "Well, love me then"
Just four short words written with a pen
But I don't think I can go through that again
Round and round and round and round.....etc......
I wear my heart on my sleeve, my soul's there too
I guess I'm sharing them both with you
But my sanity's not part of any deal
It's not that I think you are bad
I'm just not far enough from mad
And I need my mind on what I think is real
Round and round etc......

Can't take it anymore
And the light surrounds me now

Here I Stand In Chains
04:47
|
|||
I envy the ease
You throw caution to the breeze
Here I stand in chains
Trying to change
If I'm not welcome anymore
You should've locked the door
Here I am today
I'll keep out of your way
I know I'm not your friend
But I'm staying til the end
If I'm not welcome anymore
You should've locked the door
I needed some advice
Coz my thoughts weren't very nice
But when I think of what you said
Sometimes I wish you were dead
If I'm not welcome anymore
You should've locked the door
Here I stand in chains
Trying to change
Trying to change
Trying to change

Listen To Me Now
03:42
|
|||
Listen to me now
I don't believe in destiny now
If I did it's true
My destiny would be you and me now
Do ya hear what I'm saying ?
You won't catch me praying
'Coz God is not my friend
Though he might get me in the end
It's you and me now
I don't believe in destiny now
If I did it's true
My destiny would be you and me now
Whatever we've started
It's not for the faint-hearted
But I know deep down I'm brave
And solitude isn't what I crave anymore
It's you and me now
I don't believe in destiny now
If I did it's true
My destiny would be you
I feel it in my soul
But I don't need you to make me whole
I function well enough on my own thanks
I just don't wanna be alone anymore
It's you and me now
I don't believe in destiny now
If I did it's true
My destiny would be you

I never know what to say to you
I'm tongue-tied like a fool, I don't know what to do
I never know what to say to you
But I like it, coz I like you
There you stood with your eyes so kind
Fluffy clouds up above, sun setting behind you
There you stood with your eyes so kind
I'd never met you before, but I didn't mind
I'd never met you before I
Saw you walking down that street
I wished we could go get something to eat
I saw you walking down that street
And I liked it, coz you looked sweet
Yeah I liked it
But then again
I'd never know what to say to you
I'm tongue-tied like a foll, I don't know what to do
I never know what to say to you
I don't like it, but I do like you
I don't like it
I saw you out the other day
I couldn't think of anything to say
I saw you out the other day
And I liked it, but I walked away
Yeah I liked it, but then
I saw you out the other night
You were with a girl, it gave me a fright
I saw you out the other night
I didn't like it, but I didn't cry, quite
I didn't like it
But then again
I'd never know what to say to you
I'm tongue-tied like a foll, I don't know what to do
I never know what to say to you
I don't like it, but I do like you
I don't like it, but I do like you

The Eye Of The Beholder
05:41
|
|||
Copper is my favourite element
It's beautiful to behold
Diamonds, you can keep them
And I'm not that fond of gold
Oil spilt on water
Rainbows impossible to hold
It's pollution, but have you noticed ...
Rainbows never get old
To the eye of the beholder
Beauty lies within
You can argue, but that's futile
So let's try not to begin
I'm seeking resolution
I'll take what I can find
Reason has no place here
Leave your mind behind

You're An Original
04:55
|
|||
I like you better now you're old
When we were young and strong
We could dance away the night
And your eyes of clearest blue
Were filled with tantalising light
They'd fly, those eyes,
Across the undulating sea
Of dancers on the floor
Until they settled on me
Until they settled on me
You held out your hand to me
And we danced the night away
You got down on one knee
I knew just what you would say
"Please marry me,
We're like two peas within a pod"
Of course I said "I will"
Because to me you were a god
Yeah I said "I will"
Because to me you were a god
We lived our lives together
We had our ups and downs
We had our good times and our bad times
Our smiles and our frowns
You're not that keen on clubs now
You drive a much more sensible car
But I like you better now
Coz you know who you are
I like you better now
Coz you know who you are
You're an original
And you're locked in here with me
You're an original
And they've thrown away the key
You're an original
They broke the mould
You're an original
I like you better now you're old

We're Never, Ever Cold
04:17
|
|||
Take a chance, stay tonight
Take a chance, you know I'm right
You and me, we may be old
But you and me, we're never ever cold
We're on fire, stay tonight
We're on fire, you know I'm right
We're on fire, we may be old
But you and me, we're never ever cold

The Mists Of The Past
03:03
|
|||
She was a really nice lady
Her decisions were bad
Her love she had squandered
On many a cad
Poor woman
Was convinced she was cursed
So when somebody liked her
She ran away first, whoa
When somebody liked her
She ran away first.
"It's self-preservation"
The mirror she told
But the lack of elation
Was making her old
Though her looks they were fading
Her soul she would keep
And when she was ready
She'd make the leap, whoa
When she was ready
She'd make the leap
Until that sweet moment
She'd stay on her own
Nobody could hurt her
If she was alone
Bad memories faded
They faded at last
Until they were lost
In the mists of the past
And she could look forward
With no further pain
Find a new love
And be happy again
